Season 33 Auditions

Let's be honest, it is a risk to audition. Yet, you will never know until you try. Here are 7 Reasons to audition from Larry Bottjen, Artistic Director, Valley Performing Arts:

1. Everyone at an audition wants you to do well. Even those auditioning for the same role are cheering you on. You are admired and respected just for trying.
2. Don't judge your talent or stage possibilities. The director appraises auditioners objectively to determine the best mix of people and talents for their production.
3. Just because you aren't cast doesn't mean you weren't great. Each role brings an ingredient to the mix. The director needs to select the cast that blends the best.
4. New faces are always welcome at VPA. VPA is not a closed shop. We actively recruit new actors and actresses, welcoming them with open arms into our community.
5. Come to an audition, if only to watch. Perhaps after watching an audition and then the performance, you might see this isn't so difficult after all.
6. The risk may be big, but the payoff is bigger. Acting is unlike anything you'll ever experience which is why many continue to audition.
7. A VPA production brings together the most diverse group of people you could imagine. We join for one common purpose. In working together, we become family.
